EZQuant-ELN can be installed on a computer running Windows XP™ SP2 (or later) or Windows Vista™. Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 must be installed first; it can be downloaded here. Note that installing the .NET Framework requires administrator privileges. If you do not have administrator privileges on your computer, please contact your system administrator for assistance.

What is the difference between a single license and a group license? |

Answer: |
A single licenses is designed for use by a single user, which does not usually share his experimental data with others. The single user license does not enable inviting other users to your group and sharing your Knowledgebase data. A group license, on the other hand, is designed to enable management of a group of researchers that usually share their data, and require a shared Knowledgebase. In addition, the group license contains an integral authorization system, for applying different permissions for the different users.

What is the monthly/yearly license subscription model? |

The subscription model allows you to pay for the software license for as long as you use it, thus enabling small monthly or annual payments. You may check the price list of the different EZQuant-ELN licenses here.

From how many computers can I operate my EZQuant-ELN license? |

EZQuant-ELN’s license is a floating license. It can be opened from any computer the software has been installed on. You may install EZQuant-ELN on your lab computers, at home and on your laptop, without limitation. However, you may only log in to your user from one computer at a time.

If I buy a group license for 10 users, can I add more users later? |

Yes, EZQuant-ELN enables you to add users to existing groups. It’s EZ - the group’s manager has to log in to EZQuant’s member zone, and purchase as many additional licenses as he wants, when he wants them. In addition, existing licenses can be transferred between users, so if a new researcher replaces one that left the group, the user license can be edited to include the new researcher’s details.

Does EZQuant-ELN require a special server? |

No. EZQuant-ELN is installed on each computer separately and its price does not involve any hidden costs. However, to increase data sharing between users, we recommend that the group’s data will be saved on a network drive reachable to all of the group’s users.

I am interested in sharing my ELN data with a colleague who does not use EZQuant-ELN. How can I do it? |

The files that are created in EZQuant-ELN are proprietary to the software and can be opened only if the software is installed on your computer. However, anyone can download the EZQuant-ELN software from our website free of charge and select the Viewer option when opening the software. The Viewer enables opening ELN files in a read only format and its use is not time-limited. In addition, EZQuant-ELN enables you to create a PDF version of your notebook file, which allows anyone who has a PDF reader to view your data.

Does working with EZQuant-ELN require internet connection? |

Answer: |
Internet connection is required only for the log-in process, so your user ID can be identified. However, we understand that in certain time periods and locations an internet connection may not be available, so we allow log-in even without user identification for up to 7 days from the last successful identification.

Why can’t I see the video clips that I inserted into my ELN file? |

In order to play video files from the ELN, Windows Media Player version 10 or above must me installed on your computer. You may follow this link to the Windows Media Player home page and download the appropriate version.

What happens to file attachments after publishing a notebook file to PDF? |

The file attachments in the notebook are transferred to the PDF version. In the PDF reader, click on the Attachment icon (bottom left on the screen) to view the attached files and double-click a file from the list to open it.
